Who Is This For?
We are all leaders, whether we’re leading an organisation, a team, a role, or our lives.
Conscious Leadership may be right for you if you answer “yes” to one or more of the following questions:
- Would you like to be calm, centered and effective, even in challenging times?
- Would it be helpful to have a deeper understanding of yourself, others, and your work together?
- When you “solve” problems, do you want to avoid accidentally creating other problems somewhere else?
- Would you like to be more innovative and creative?
- Is your work full of trade-offs? Would you rather find solutions that add value for all your stakeholders?
How it works
In Conscious Leadership we hold a confidential guided thinking space so you can find insights that deliver tangible business and personal results. You’ll become calmer, more centered, and better able to understand the bigger picture, your own deeper needs and other peoples’ perspectives. You’ll also discover innovative solutions for complex challenges. And in the process you’ll build your emotional, spiritual and systemic intelligence to better complement your inherent analytical intelligence.

One-to-one guided reflection
So…how does it work?
You can think about your work from many perspectives. There’s you, you with others such as your team, what you’re working on together like a task or a project, and the wider system such as your organisation, city or planet.
All these perspectives are interconnected. What you do affects your team, what your team does affects your task, your task affects your system. And the reverse is also true.
Today’s business culture promotes rushing from place to place, topic to topic, and drowns us in information on a daily basis. Does that sound familiar?
And when you rush, get stressed or are overwhelmed with information your brain tries to simplify things. It starts to see and analyse the world as separate parts, and predicts the future based on the past. Your paradigms become locked, so you do similar things but expect different results. And this doesn’t work.
However…when we help you to slow down in guided reflection you can use your brain in a different way, seeing the interconnections of the system including where things are working, where they’re not, or where there are better options.
Using these insights you create better solutions that work for the wider system, including your business and yourself.
After an introductory chat we meet either face-to-face or by phone or online for 90 minutes at a time.
The first session is free as a mutual exploration. If everyone’s happy we usually commit to six sessions over six to eight months, often morphing to an ongoing monthly thinking space.
Together we explore the mountain-range of your work, using a variety of creative and pragmatic techniques to settle you into a deeply reflective thinking space and uncover what you know that you don’t know you know.
You can bring any subject that affects your work. Perhaps there’ll be a common thread between your sessions, or you may bring a different topic each session. For example we may explore:
- Finding your higher work purpose
- Improving your performance in a specific area
- Examining why one of your teams or team members isn’t performing well
- Finding out what’s going on with a difficult colleague
- Ways to respond to a complex business challenge
- Whether you’re getting in your own way, and what you can do about it
- Or anything other work-related challenge or aspiration you like, including personal ones affecting your work. Everything is connected.
You’ll learn how to stay calmer and more centered, and gain new insights into yourself, others, relationships, your work and your world. And you’ll turn these insights into actions with tangible business and personal results.
From Mackey, J and Sisodia, R (2013), Conscious Capitalism: Liberating the Heroic Spirit of Business, p196 “There are two important aspects to hearing and following our hearts. First, we need to enhance our self-awareness so we know when we are truly following our hearts and when we’ve lost our way. When we are truly following our hearts (and not just our egos, which is what most of us do most of the time), we are tapped into our true passions in life. We are doing what we most love, and we find our lives full of increased energy, creativity, joy, and purpose. We simply feel more alive when we are moving within the flow of life.”
